The nose is the most prominent part of the face. Its appearance sets the stage for the rest of the face.

Although there are ethnic variations, most people will agree that an aesthetically pleasing nose has the following features :

 

The profile has a pleasing proportion: The nose sits on the middle of the face which is not sunken in The chin is not receded or protruding The forehead curves down to form an angle with the root of the nose To view details in the diagram to the left, run your mouse over the stars by each characteristic above. The nose forms a triangle in which all the sides are the same length.
The sides of the nose do not flare out.

Only a small part of the nostrils is evident. A shorter nose will reveal more the nostrils , whereas a longer nose will hide the nostrils altogether

Nasal deformities are frequently associated with nasal obstruction. The deformity and the obstruction can be corrected by surgery.

Many people seek to enhance the appearance of their nose to a more aesthetically pleasing one. A properly trained surgeon can correct most of the deformity.
